Thursday 11 July

Luxembourg Pride Run 2024. The Luxembourg Pride Run, organised by ING and the City of Luxembourg, returns for its second edition, offering a festive and inclusive race in support of the LGBTIQ+ community. Participants can choose between running (5/10 km) or walking (5 km). Some of the money raised will be donated to charity projects supporting the Rosa Lëtzebuerg and Centre LGBTIQ+ Cigale associations.

Summerkino in Walferdange. The cultural commission invites you to a series of summer screenings in the courtyard of the sports hall. To kick things off, enjoy a concert by the group Da Capo Musica, followed by two screenings: “The Mario Bros Movie” in German and “Barbie” in the original English version. The rest of the programme features family-friendly screenings, with “Kung Fu Panda 4” in German followed by “Ghostbuster Frozen Empire” in the original version, for an entertaining evening for all ages. Finally, enjoy the screening of “Cocorico” in the original French version, a comedy perfect for a summer evening under the stars.

Bouneweger Kiermes. The Place Jeanne d’Arc will be transformed into a vibrant festival site from 12 to 16 July. The “Bouneweger Kiermes,” organised by the City of Luxembourg, promises days full of fun and entertainment with its glittering rides, games stalls and delicious fairground specialities. Architects’ night. Discover what goes on behind the scenes in architects’ offices through an urban itinerary including guided tours, exhibitions and aperitif dinners. Night of Wonders. A magical day for all the family with art, music and entertainment in the Parc du Château. The 14th edition of the Night of Wonders (Nuit des Merveilles) offers a mix of creative activities and entertainment, ensuring precious and unforgettable memories for all participants. .

Summerstage 2024. The Harmonie municipale Dudelange (HMD) presents a live open-air concert, offering a musical evening with a varied repertoire of great classics. Secondhand market. Located on the Place d’Armes in the heart of Luxembourg, this market attracts bargain hunters and the curious in search of unique objects, antiques and unusual items. Blues Express. Luxembourg’s biggest blues festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with renowned artists and concerts on 11 different stages. Forty-one concerts, 11 stages, exhibitions, museums and an instrument market await you. The headliners include Michel Jonasz, Todd Sharpville, Manu Lanvin and the Devil Blues, Kat Eaton and Justina Lee Brown, all in an enchanting natural setting.

Get-together Bike Parade. Annual bike demonstration organised by ProVelo, followed by an information programme throughout the day. The bike parade starts at 2pm and takes you on a 5.8km ride through Luxembourg city centre.

Sunday 14 July

Xanti Schawinsky: Play, Life, Illusion--a Retrospective + Schawinsky Reloaded by Monster Chetwynd. This exhibition is the first retrospective devoted to Xanti Schawinsky outside Switzerland. Inspired by the spirit of the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, Schawinsky explored a variety of artistic fields, including stage direction, set design, photography and painting. The exhibition also includes a large-scale installation by Monster Chetwynd, created in response to Schawinsky’s work.
